Most of us protect ourselves by masking who we truly are from others. In life all deep notions are masked, but none more so than what goes on inside our minds. Some of our deepest, darkest thoughts are locked away and kept silent. When I was in high school I had cut myself off from the society around me. The world was cruel and unforgiving; I found myself hiding many facets about my true self just so I could blend in and be seen as “normal” to survive. However, I soon discovered a whole new creative outlet, photography. I created narrative's through my works, showing bits and pieces of myself through each piece and the complexity that is who I am.
